Use case

Analyse a video ad before it airs

An advertising film says one thing, shows another and writes a third at the bottom of the screen. Alios takes all three: the soundtrack is transcribed, on-screen text is captured, the images are described. Every environmental claim is then checked against the applicable rules.

What is captured

The three layers of a film

A video escapes review because nobody reads it. It gets watched, and the claim is gone in two seconds.

What is said

Voice-over and dialogue are transcribed, then analysed sentence by sentence. A phrase such as environmentally friendly or zero impact is flagged even when it appears nowhere on screen.

What is written

Titles, on-screen text, logos and legal mentions are captured, including when they pass too quickly to be read. A qualifier shown for a quarter of a second does not fix the claim it is meant to soften.

What is shown

Forests, wind turbines, green tones and animals suggest an environmental benefit without a single word being spoken. The JEP judges the overall impression, not the text alone.

The reference framework

What the verdict rests on

  • The JEP advertising code for Belgium, and the ARPP sustainable development recommendation for France
  • The ADEME guide on environmental claims, which sets out what a statement must be able to prove
  • Directive (EU) 2024/825, applicable on 27 September 2026, on general claims and self-certified labels
